LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Everyone keeps saying they were shocked by last night's "Lost" bloodbath of fan favorite characters. With only three episodes left though, it's not like you are going to have a long time to miss them anyway! Who did we say goodbye to and how? I.E. If you didn't watch it you should stop reading now. Plus, which shows are worth your time tonight and what should you dump from your DVR. It's all in today's Dish.
"Lost" went a little kill happy on last night's episode entitled "The Candidate." Sawyer, Kate, Sayid, Hurley, Jack, Jin, Sun and Frank the pilot got into the submarine after Evil Locke convinced them that the sub was how they could get off the island. Turns out Evil Locke had a surprise bomb for all of them. Sayid made the heroic gesture of running the bomb to the front of the watercraft where he was seemingly blown to bits. Sawyer and Frank were knocked out cold while Sun was pinned down. Sawyer and an injured Kate (from a previous gun shot wound) were brought to safety by Hurley and Jack. Frank most likely drowned after getting hit by a door in the explosion. Poor Sun was trapped as the water began to rise, and rather than let his wife die alone, Jin stayed behind and they traveled to the big submarine in the sky together hand in hand -- thus ending the shows most beloved, love story
"Teary" and "Emotional" were words flying all over Twitter and Facebook about the deaths. This morning, "Lost" executive producer commiserated with the show's fans via Twitter. "I know it probably doesn't help but I'm depressed today too," Damon wrote
In next week's episode, titled "Across the Sea," Evil Locke's motives will finally be explained. Plus, look for "West Wing" star Allison Janney to pop up in the episode as "woman." No seriously, that's how she is titled in the episode. Perhaps "woman" has some connection to "man in black" -- aka the guy who stole Locke's body and became Evil Locke. You 'Lostees' know what I mean.
Just three episodes left until it's all over. Well, unless somebody wants to do a "Lost" feature film? Anyone with me on that? Yesterday, ABC revealed that the final episode has been extended by a half hour. The finale episode airing May 23rd has been expanded to two-and-a-half hours. It will now air from 9 PM to 11:30 PM ET/PT. Somehow I think it still won't be enough to answer all of our burning questions.
